Parents do it for school work, bedtime, or a younger sibling, when even a good channel has videos you'd rather skip.
For YouTube's own way, you need the YouTube Kids app, your parent Google account, and a YouTube Kids profile for your child.
In YouTube Kids, open the lock, choose your child's profile, tap Edit settings, then Approve content yourself. Now you search and add each video by hand.
Here's the catch. It only works inside YouTube Kids, built for young children. The main YouTube app can't limit your child to certain videos.
