Notifications & Approvals

How do notifications and approvals work?

When your child tries to watch a YouTube channel that isn't on their approved list, you get an instant message on Telegram, WhatsApp, or both. You can approve or deny it with one tap.

What does a notification look like?

When a request comes in, you'll see something like this:

New channel request

MrBeast — 300M subscribers
Requested for Alex

[Approve] [Deny]

Each notification includes:

  • Channel name and subscriber count
  • Your child's name
  • Approve and Deny buttons right in the chat

If you have both platforms connected, you'll get the notification on both at the same time.

How do I approve a request?

Tap Approve and the channel is added to your child's approved list immediately. The browser extension updates in real-time — your child doesn't need to refresh the page.

Bot: New channel request
      MrBeast — 300M subscribers
      Requested for Alex
      [Approve] [Deny]

(You tap Approve)

Bot: Approved — MrBeast added to Alex's approved list.
      [Undo (30s)]

On Telegram, the original message updates in place. On WhatsApp, a new follow-up message is sent with the confirmation.

How do I deny a request?

Tap Deny and the request is denied. You can optionally give a reason that your child will see — for example, "That channel isn't appropriate for your age."

Can I undo an approval or denial?

Yes. Every action comes with a 30-second undo window. Tap Undo to reverse what you just did.

If you just...Undo will...
Approved a requestPut the request back to "pending"
Denied a requestPut the request back to "pending"
Added a channelRemove it from the approved list
Removed a channelAdd it back to the approved list
⚠️

The undo button is one-time use and disappears after 30 seconds. After that, you can still reverse the action manually (for example, remove a channel you approved by mistake).
